Collection: Panama
Panama, a country celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and stunning biodiversity, is home to the vibrant textile art of Molas. Molas are a traditional form of reverse appliqué textile created by the Guna (also known as Kuna) Indigenous people of Panama. These intricate designs are crafted by layering multiple pieces of cloth and cutting away sections to reveal the colors beneath, often depicting geometric patterns, animals, and cultural symbols. Molas are commonly used to adorn traditional Guna clothing, particularly the blouses worn by Guna women, and have become a symbol of Guna identity and artistic expression.
